The realisation and rehabilitation of 78 hectares of land adjacent to the CBD that took place over a 20 year period through the extraction of 40 tons of gold from 80 million tons of mine residues, has provided opportunity for some 320 000m2 of prime development.  The completed developments include one of the largest agglomerations of wholesale trade and activities in support of cross border trade.
